They say: From pure sensation to the intuition of beauty, from pleasure and pain to love and the mystical ecstacy and death - all things that are fundamental, all things that, to the human spirit, are most profoundly significant, can only be experienced, not expressed. The rest is always and everywhere silence. After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

We have been putting a lot of CDs onto the website recently. So I was trying quickly to put them into different classifications, but it was not obvious from the cover of this CD which category it should belong. So I started to play it on my computer to get some clues. And it is still on my desk 5 days later as I keep putting it back on because it is just soooo mellow! There is a beautiful combination of a pure sounding Japanese wooden instrument called a shakuhachi played by Riley Lee and the harp played by Marshall McGuire. I am not a music lover really. I mean I like music, but I don't have music on all the time. But this CD I really liked. There are plenty of tracks you will recognise but not know from where. Great to music to listen to in the bath, when you are a bit stressed or background music for a nice dinner. It is fairly even paced so could be used for therapies I guess, although the tracks are definitely different. But it is all flute (shakuhachi) and harp. A nice surprise.
