They say: Aromatherapy is derived from two words. Aroma - meaning fragrance or smell and Therapy - meaning treatment. Aromatherapy has been traced to Chinese origins over 6000 years ago. Aromatherapist and Beautician Marina Swain, has collaborated in creating this album to create a mood and atmosphere to complement the relaxation experienced through the application of essential oils.

Llewellyn draws much of his inspiration from nature, and incorporating many natural sounds into his recordings, Llewellyn is a talented yet reclusive composer of relaxation music. Working closely with Marina Swain, they have produced an album of carefully sequenced tracks that will perfectly compliment Aromatherapy sessions.

Marina Swain is a qualified Aromatherapist and Beauty Therapist. She has a natural gift for healing and is also a Reiki healer. She trained at the world-renowned Champneys International College, where Aromatherapy is an integral part of the syllabus. Marina believes that music plays an important part in helping her clients to relax, and the right music can greatly enhance the intensity of the massage.

We say: This is background music, music that melds into the scenery, which is I guess what it is designed for - to blend into your consciousness while you are being massaged or massaging someone else. The album is timed at one hour, ideal for aromatherapy treatments. And the sounds, keys and tempo of the tracks have been carefully managed to combine with aromatherapy treatments. For example the closing track should start to subtly signal to the therapist that the treatment is coming to a close. In all an album that brings in melodies, harmonies, strings and some natural sounds to create an environment to just let you drift off.

The music is by Llewellyn although you wouldn't know it straight away by looking at the CD cover. New World Music are producing their 'Mind Body Soul' series and trying to push the therapy rather than the artist. So there is a little booklet (about eight pages long) explaining some of the basics of aromatherapy.
