They say: Why do some people always seem so happy with their lives - and others so down even when they seem to have it all? The difference is the strength that comes from thinking positively.

Negative thinking wears us down, leaving us feeling powerless, as though happiness and success are only for other people. It's a bit like a disease - you can have it, you can catch it from someone else and you can even pass it on. But the longer you leave negative thoughts untreated, the worse they will make you feel. Negative thinking is powerful stuff - it can even make you physically ill - and it will certainly make it harder for you to recover if you do become ill.

Fortunately there's one thing more powerful than a negative thought - and that is, of course, a positive one!

Don't delay happiness! John-Roger and Peter McWilliams are the experts' expert at helping people to se the lighter, brighter side of life- so read on - and learn the way to positive living.

This book has a lovely, chatty, even bubbly feel to it. It is full of positivity and zest for life, despite the fact that it covers some matters usually considered morbid or depressing. With little comments, sidetracks and examples it is almost as if you are having a chat with the authors, this makes it incredibly readable and accessible. Written in two parts, part 1 deals with the "disease" of negative thinking and the effects that negative thinking can have on the mind, body and soul. Part 2 looks at the "cures" ways to think or things to do to cure negative thinking, this section is written in short pieces which makes them ideal to dip into and try out. It does not seek to tell or to preach, rather to encourage the reader to think and explore for themselves. Many of the ideas are common sense, but the way that they are mapped out and discussed means the difference between sort of knowing and doing. The ideas here are not distant or impractical, there is no one fix, but rather things to try out and experiment with to see what works for you. Some feel very therapeutic as you work through them such as "Don’t worship the God of other people’s opinion" did for me, others are challenging, such as......more
