By Anne Marie Welch View ProfileDenise is an American Native Indian from the Cherokee tribe. She spent time with native tribes of Africa, Australia and New Zealand and also stayed several years in a monastery. She is trained in Shiatsu and Reiki healing. Her book is really fascinating; I could not put it down until I finished it. People in general, disregard signs and coincidences but Denise tells us that nothing happens by chance, that everybody we meet in our lives, even briefly, are here to give us messages. We are given signs throughout our lives to help us and guide us. Native people were aware of these signs but in our modernised world, we simply do not take any notice. Signs come in our dreams, from animals, people words, songs we hear; we just have to pay more attention.
We are given in the second part of the book a dictionary of words and their meanings. For example, a greyhound is a sign for speed and swiftness. If the name comes to your attention, it could be that there is a situation in your life where you need to act with great speed. I was reading this book in my garden and Megan, my kitten, was trying to get onto our two foot fence. I was concerned that she would disappear in our neighbour gardens and get lost. Suddenly, a butterfly flew around the garden. I suddenly realised that it was a sign meaning that I should let my kitten have more freedom and that she was safe.
