They say: How Death Saved my Life is the remarkable autobiography of world famous teacher Denise Linn. With a charming mix of compassion and fiery conviction born of deep pain, Denise describes how she overcame the horror of an abusive childhood and the terror of being stricken down by a sniper's bullet.

From the mundane to the mystical, follow Denise's inner and outer journeys as she grows up in the most disparate places - from an abandoned Army Barracks to a Midwestern historical house, via the slums of Chicago and a farming community in Ohio. Travel with her as she comes under enemy fire in former Yugoslavia, is tear-gassed during anti-war riots, delves into the political and sexual revolution of the 1960's, lives in a Buddhist monastery and explores native cultures, to finally come full circle and reach wholeness.

Thousands of people worldwide and an ever-growing number of people in the UK have attended Denise's inspirational lectures and now for the first time can read the fascinating story behind this remarkable woman.

Denise Linn is a highly respected lecturer, author and visionary. She has researched healing traditions from cultures around the world for the past 35 years. A best-selling author of thirteen books, including Sacred Space and Feng Shui For the Soul, Denise regularly gives seminars on the six continents and also appears extensively on TV and radio shows.

By Vernon Marshall View Profile
Words almost fail me when I strive to describe this book. It is an inspiring and remarkable book. Denise Linn has become one of the most impressive and inspirational teachers in the world today. She has changed the lives of millions of people and continues to do so. This work is her autobiography and she holds nothing back in describing her many sources of knowledge and understanding. She takes the reader on a journey from her difficult childhood years through some harsh and painful lifetime experiences. She has learnt from her life's events, though, and has been enabled to transform her life into something great.

I was moved by her stories of her abuse as a child, how they made her feel disgusted with herself and ashamed. The account of her mother attempting suicide was powerfully written. The story of her suddenly asking an acquaintance to marry her, which they did the next day, was not only deeply moving but very romantic. Stripping naked under a waterfall on the Hawaiian island of Maui to be declared husband and wife was an incredibly impressive story. She is still married to him incidentally, and his surname, Linn, is a Celtic word for waterfall.

There is so much in this book. I cannot wait to find time to read it again. I shall always go back to it when I need support. It has inspired me to read her other material. Denise Linn is a giant when it comes to human wisdom and this is very, very special. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to get the best out of life.
