They say: If it weren't for the immense energy that we put into denying who we are or perpetuating emotions such as depression, repression, and self doubt, life would be a continual revelation of joy and well being. In this inspirational yet down-to-earth book, renowned healer and teacher Denise Linn draws upon her own story, as well as the wisdom she's gathered from native cultures around the world, to help you heal your past and create a fulfilling future. This work guides you through four profound acts of personal power that assist you in breaking free of negative family ancestral patterns so that your light can help illuminate the world.

It only takes a single breakthrough to restructure your personal history in order to heal your family tree - both for the generations behind you and those that will follow - which in turn empowers your life. This book shows how you to take that step of self-discovery so you can walk this planet with grace and ease, while experiencing the majesty of your being.

Formerly called 'Descendants' in the UK, 'Four Acts of Personal Power' is a unique book. With meditations, exercises and questions throughout, designed to increase understanding and awareness of who we are, where we have come from and where we are going to, there are some traditional and novel approaches which are useful and illuminating.

With a few suggestions on how to trace your family tree, Denise focuses on looking at the relationships that we have with our ancestors, with an unusual meditation for getting to know our unknown ancestors. She suggests writing our story to break free from negative ancestral patterns, with valuable advice about that process. She talks about writing letters about what we've learnt in our life for future generations and empowering our descendants by bequeathing a box of items to pass on. Denise talks about myths and where they fit into our lives, and includes detailed information about rituals. Rituals are something that I have never felt drawn to, but from her information I now have more understanding. She discusses looking at our own attitudes to the future and the attitudes of others as well, to the future of our planet. I particularly enjoyed the section on adopting an attitude of joy and contributing to the collective unconscious, this was uplifting, heartening and empowering.

The processes Denise Linn describes are ones I'd already been working through as a grounding part of my self development and with this book Denise has taken me several steps further. Four Acts of Personal Power is a great self-help book for those who are interested in self-development and appreciate a grounded approach, I recommend giving it a go. For anyone who is wondering where they fit into the world, why they are as they are and for those who are......more
