Man-in-the-Maze charm / pendant (sterling silver)
Man in the maze - Life choices, journeying
The man in the maze represents the multitude of choices we face in the course of life. Life can be a difficult journey, with many ups and downs, twists and turns along the way. As the journey continues, we learn lessons, gain knowledge and understanding, until we finally make it to the central goal and complete our life's purpose.
The illustrative concept and design of the maze man originates from a tale told by the Tohono o'odham or Papago Indians of the Central Valley in Arizona. The little figure is called Elder Brother, or I'itoi (in other versions, U'ki'ut'l), and the story has it that he built a home underground in the centre of a mountain to confuse his enemies. The entrance was easy to find, but once inside people were faced with a maze of different passageways with numerous dead ends. Although he was pleased to outwit his enemies, he wanted his friends to be able to find him, so he drew a map for them. It's this diagram that's said to feature on the icon we see today.
Peter Stone Company - High quality jewellery manufacturer
Holisticshop.co.uk has been trading with Peter Stone Jewellery for many years now because we consistently find their products to be of a high quality. The Peter Stone Company purchases raw silver and produces their own true .925 sterling silver alloy in their own factory. All rings are cast to size and craftsmen cut and inlay each stone for a perfect fit. Every piece of jewellery created is hand polished not tumble polished. The gems they use are of excellent quality and the prices we have always found to be very competitive.
Peter Koslowski had been working on merchant ships since 1983 while living in Sri Lanka and was fortunate to be exposed to an abundance of precious stones and he began to purchase and trade them, as well as silver. During this period he also studied gemology and jewellery making in a number of countries. This then lead to the founding of the Peter Stone Company in 1992 in Bangkok, Thailand, where he still resides.

By Jackie, East Sussex The Chinese believed that demons could only travel in straight lines and that mazes would baffle evil spirits. The twists and turns reflect our lives, and the evil spirits are our ego and the barriers we create through ignorance which keep us from our centre - the sacred space in the middle! This charm is beautifully made and very uplifting to wear, and a real talking point.

By Sharon Harvey, Birmingham Yet another wonderful piece. I love the story surrounding him, and love to tell people when they they ask. I wear it when I am looking for direction.
