This book is translated into English from its original German text. It is in some areas quite obvious but this also makes the book a more interesting read. It follows case after case of apparent reincarnation cases of children around the world, differences between the different cultures and beliefs and how they affect the children.

It is written in 8 chapters, one of which is about children that speak in a foreign language. It is amazing! These children start to talk a completely different language to their native tongue, with NO prior knowledge of that language. They then go on to tell their parents about the life they led before they were born to them, in another country. It covers each case almost scientifically, stating facts gathered from investigations mainly by Professor Ian Stevenson who travelled the world studying cases. Each case is pretty amazing and not all of them unique, in fact a lot of the stories are very similar. It makes pretty persuading reading to the reincarnation sceptics out there!

As the book follows so many different cases it is an easy book to pick up as and when you want without the usual few minutes of getting back onto it. The individual cases are also great for interesting conversational pieces with your friend and family. You need to read this book however with an open mind to other cultures. It can be difficult reading when you are reading about children whose parents spat in their mouths each time they spoke of their ‘old’ lives as a way of discouragement, or even beat them until they stopped talking about who they used to be.
