By Louise Green View ProfileThis boxed set is truly something to treasure. J Philip Thomas has taken photographs, combined them with imagery on a computer and produced seventy eight works of art. The statues photographed look as if they were sculpted especially for Tarot and I can't believe this is Paris, for the deck has an enchantment and romance far removed from the bustling city of today.
The Major and Minor cards all carry an image, a title, each card is edged with a delicate gold border. Some of the Major Arcana bear a different title to the Rider Waite deck, for example, the Lovers become 'Harmony', Justice becomes 'Equilibrium', but this for me gave a better understanding of the card involved.
The Minor Arcana's suites are Matter (Coins), Air (Swords), Water (Cups) and Fire (Wands). I found the images conveyed their meaning clearly so recourse to the book was minimal. The cards are larger than playing card size, but a smaller card wouldn't show the detail in the images.
The book, with its sapphire blue cover, is informative. The author explains how the deck came to be, there is a section on Tarot's history, an explanation of each card, examples of some spreads to try and sample readings using the deck. I enjoyed reading about the author's Vision and the dedication to fulfil it.
The silk cloth is the Rose Window glowing jewel bright against a deep blue background; the silk is large enough to take a six card spread or the Rose Spread as suggested in the book. The deck, book and silk complement each other beautifully in colour, quality and theme.

By V E, Peterborough Really good beginners pack. I tuned into the cards almost instantly and the descriptions in the book where very accurate. People were amazed at the accuracy I read them with after even my first reading. Very well done to the author.
By Debra Louvaine I purchased the tarot a few months ago, they have altered my perception, took a while to blend with the cards, the images appeared too stiff at first, gradually they softened, hence they talk to me now.
