This 20th Anniversary edition of the Book of Runes is beautifully presented, the runes provided are a good shape and feel comfortable to work with, the book is hardback and easy to carry around and most usefully they have printed each rune with it’s symbol, name, meanings and best of all page number on the inside covers.
The introduction and instructions are insightful and interesting, the interpretations feel right and the readings I have practiced so far have always been pretty close to the mark if not dead on.
I admit, I like using these runes, I like the feeling when I put my hand in the bag, comfort, trust and anticipation. As a self confessed angel card addict, I can see that I will be drawing runes and cards together to answer questions or for guidance, they have a similar instinctual feeling for me.
This set of runes is an ideal way to treat yourself or as a present for a friend, it gives you everything you need to start to learn about runes. Happy casting!
By Rob, Chessington I like runes - I like the way they look very mystical and magickal yet I dont like this set. The book is great and so is the bag but its the runes I don't like. Youching them makes me cringe - I hate that clay like feeling like a chalkboard. Don't get me wrong if you are looking for a rune set and don't mind chalkboards then go for this set, I'm just warning other people like me so they don't get disappointed. If you too have this issue then I would reccomend you go for an oak or crystal set as you can focus on the learning and not be distracted with dreading putting your hand in the bag. Other than that, great set. I'm giving it a 5 rating as its not the set's fauly I have issues and it's a great set on the whole :)
