We say: Carnelian can vary in appearance, some stones with some banding (attractive lines) while others are a more consistent orangey red. But also the basic colour can vary slightly. I went for this stone because of it's deep rich orange colour. My particular stone has some banding, which I think adds to its character. It is a lovely stone & if it appeals to you then go for it!
