Anyone who is interested or involved in Witchcraft will probably already know Vivianne Crowley's name. She has been a leading light, writing about Wicca for many years. While there are a lot of books (and writers) around who claim to be the definitive voice of Wicca, it is hard to think of anyone within the Craft whose writing is more respected.

This particular book is not new, but it has been updated, and is a new edition. It was good to come back to it, in its new form, after so many years. Probably the measure of a really good book is one that you can return to after a long absence, and find that it still has something new to say to you. The chapter on the God 'Wicca and the Masculine' which was contributed by Vivianne's partner, Chris, struck particular chords for me, but I also found many little insights and anecdotes that take readers deeper into the truths of Wicca.

I lost my old dog-eared copy of this book some time ago, and I have no doubt that that copy is working well for the person who has it now. But as the Spiral Path moves on, it is very good to have a new, updated copy of Vivianne Crowley's timeless work to refer to. I already think of the arrival of this book in my life as spiritual good timing, and timing is everything in the Craft.
