It covers the history of crystals in a much more detailed and interesting way (giving stories of shamans and how different cultures have used crystals) than many similar books. There is also a directory at the back giving detailed definitions of about 30 of the most commonly used crystals.

The thing that brings this book to life are the little stories of actual people she has treated and also the recounting of stories from other people. There is also a useful section at the back giving names and addresses of places to train and governing organisations in the crystal therapy field as well as a thorough recommended reading list.
