A truly wonderful read with lots of information about Margrit’s approach to healing generally, and specifically for horses. There is reference to other holistic approaches which can be used to treat horses, such as acupuncture and homeopathy, and Margrit explains why she has found it more appropriate to use hands on healing after other treatments such as physiotherapy (the horse being too relaxed for example after healing to provide the equine physiotherapist with enough information regarding the tight muscles needing attention).

The book contains ten chapters including those covering the inner matrix of the horse and how to link human and equine soul during the healing process; what is healing for horses, why they need healing and how to give a healing treatment including the position of chakras in the horse. The environment and its effect on the horse with regards to health and healing is also discussed, and a useful small list of organisations which are involved in equine health/training to become a practitioner is included at the back of the book. This section also lists contact details for Margrit, including a website, which some readers may find of interest. Compared with Margrit's second book, 'Healing for Pets', this first book is specifically for the horse owner/rider/carer, and there is less information as regards how to conduct the healing and ways to prepare yourself (e.g.through meditation and visualisation) than in the second book. I would recommend the reader who would like to follow Margrit's suggestions with regards to healing horses, but who is new healing, read the second book also, especially the chapters providing suggestions about 'tuning-in' with an animal's mind and thought processes.

As with my review of the second book, I feel I should pass a comment regarding the section on healing with crystals......more
