Joe Martinez - Navajo tribe -
Joe Martinez is a member of the Navajo tribe and lives in the USA. We trade directly with this artist making sure he receives a fair price for his work. All items will be good quality but because of the hand made nature of the goods it is possible that crafts such as these may have small differences between them. These small differences (if there are any) should be seen as a testimony to the fact that you are buying authentic Native American crafts.

Hummingbird - Joy, life, love
Native Americans regard hummingbirds as sacred and bringers of joy, life and love. Items featuring the symbol are often given as a token of love and to show appreciation, both to friends and partners. When depicted in pairs, the meaning is further enhanced, symbolising devotion, the continuing cycle of life and eternity. A feather from the hummingbird is particularly treasured, as it's said to open the heart.

In Native American communities, where the art of storytelling is held in high regard, tales of encounters with hummingbirds are plentiful. Most tales abound with myths and lessons, aimed at helping people learn. In the case of the hummingbird, they encourage people to open up to others, share in the beauty of life, see joy in everything and everyone, and most of all, to learn to love.
