I started reading this expecting a diary literally of this young boy seeing spirits, not at all so. Full of humour and of life in the 1890's of how the middle classes lived. From the way he sees 'Lights' (Auras) to whom he believes to be 'Jesus' keeping the reader wanting more. Remembering that in the 1890's Spiritualism was totally frowned upon and totally alien too, this young boy takes an awful lot of risks but sticks to his diary nonetheless. His parent's particularly his mother truly believed he had a very vivid imagination and more than once the doctor was sent for only to be blamed on his weak heart and more trivial matters. His teacher was his saviour, helping the young boy throughout. Reincarnation explained in excellent detail and so easily understood, (because it was explained to a young boy) and also easily explained the 'spirit world'. A tribute to the young boy who stuck to his beliefs.

I came across this book by accident and was really drawn to it... I found it a fascinating book and just couldn't put it down. It really is worth reading.
