Wiccan Year Definition and Wiccan Year Products

Wiccan Year - Celebrations, nature, seasons, Paganism
The Wiccan year is divided into eight sabbats, or ancient festivals, that mark the changing of the seasons. The sabbats are a time for rituals, celebrations and feasting. Like other types of calendars, the exact days when some of the sabbats are celebrated each year varies slightly.

The eight sabbats are:
* Imbolc – a celebration of renewal, which marks spring, and takes place in February.
* Ostara – a celebration of growth, which is often viewed as being the Wiccan equivalent of Easter. It takes place in about March and the symbol of the hare is often linked with Ostara.
* Beltane – a celebration of fertility and the sacred union of God and the Goddess. It takes place in about May.
* Litha – this is the summer solstice celebration and is an important part in the wiccan year. It takes place in June, on the longest day of the year.
* Lughnasadh or Lammas – a celebration of fertility and harvest that takes place in about August.
* Mabon – the autumn equinox, which celebrates harmony and a time when spiritual work focus on turning in, to inner spiritual work, over the winter months. It takes place in September.
* Samhain – a celebration of magic and ritual which runs alongside the more well known celebrations of Halloween.
* Yule – the winter solstice, in December, that celebrates all that the year has brought and the impending new year to come.

For practising Wiccans or those with a fondness for the celebrations throughout the year, then keeping images or details of the Wiccan calendar close to hand can help them feel in touch with their beliefs.
