Stag - Regeneration, spirituality, fertility
In symbology, the definition and meaning behind the stag is always positive. It’s regarded as a sign of regeneration, of spirituality, re-growth and fertility. The stag is a graceful and beautiful creature, who roams the land, and the natural shedding of their antlers, and the re-growth of new ones, is seen as being a representation of regeneration and fertility. The shape of the antlers, which have a tendency to branch out, is also likened to the shape and pattern of the Tree of Life.

The stag is often used in Christian and Biblical meanings. The stag can be regarded as a symbol of Christ, who is able to trample down and overcome the power of the devil. The shedding of the stags horns can be seen to represent the shedding of sins; if a stag is also depicted as drinking water from a fresh spring, this may be seen as drinking the blood of Christ which can help take away sins and renew the spirit.

The stag encourages us to be gentle and graceful and to walk in the light, with spirit.
